Chief of Clan Lamont


Father Peter Noel Lamont is the 29th Chief of the Name and Arms of Lamont. He became Chief in 1972 upon the passing of his father, Noel Brian Lamont, the 28th Chief of Clan Lamont. Father Peter resides outside of Sydney, Australia, where he serves as a Catholic priest to the Blackheath community.

Scott Turner resides in the United States of America and has been an active and dedicated member of Clan Lamont since the 1990s. Over the years, he has served in multiple leadership roles within the Clan Lamont Society of North America. He joined the Board of Directors in 2007, has served as President since 2016, and was awarded lifetime membership in 2018.
In 2018, Scott was named Chieftain by declaration of Father Peter Noel Lamont, 29th Chief of Clan Lamont, who bestowed upon him the title and rank of Ceann-Tighe (Chieftain) of Clan Lamont, along with the appointment of High Commissioner for the United States. In 2023, Scott joined the Standing Council of Scottish Chiefs as Chief Lamont’s representative, and in 2025, he was further appointed Seanchaidh (Shennachie) to the Chief of Lamont.
In these roles, Scott works closely with the Chief on all clan affairs and serves as the principal representative and voice of Clan Lamont within the international Scottish community.
Chieftain of Clan Lamont / High Commissioner for Canada


Dr. George Burden resides in Nova Scotia, Canada, and has long been an active supporter of Clan Lamont in Canada. In 2017, he was appointed High Commissioner for Canada, and in 2018 was declared Ceann Tighe (Chieftain) by Father Peter Noel Lamont, 29th Chief of the Name and Arms. Dr. Burden also succeeded his father as the 31st Baron of Seabegs in 2014, continuing his family’s distinguished lineage and service to clan and country.
High Commissioner for France, Belgium, & Germany

Charles Lamant resides in France and belongs to the New Mill branch of the clan. He is actively engaged with the Clan Lamont Society (Scotland). In 2022, he was appointed High Commissioner for France, Belgium, and Germany by declaration of the Chief, working alongside Chieftains Turner and Burden to represent the Chief’s interests to Lamonts across Europe.
High Commissioner for Australasia

Ian McLucas resides in Australia and is actively engaged with the Clan Lamont Society of Australia. In 2022, he was appointed High Commissioner for Australasia by declaration of the Chief, representing the Chief’s interests to Lamonts throughout the region.
High Council of Clan Lamont
The High Council of Clan Lamont, known as Ard-Chomhairle na Clann MacLaomainn in Scottish Gaelic, is made up of the Chieftains and High Commissioners of Clan Lamont. The mission of the High Council is to provide leadership, guidance, and improved communication while fostering unity among the worldwide Clan Lamont and the societies and organizations that represent it. The High Council serves in an advisory, coordinating, and representative capacity under the authority and recognition of the Chief of the Name and Arms of Lamont.
